The Mt Zion Leadership Board has approved the establishment of a standing Security and Safety Committee to be chaired by Larry Hill. The purpose of said committee is to:

  • Establish access procedures and policies for members, preschool parents, and outside participants accessing Mt Zion facilities;
  • Establish policies for camera system usage, including who has authority to view recorded video;
  • Develop procedures for handling after-hours vehicle parking on church property, including liability forms;
  • Develop emergency procedures (including medical/health incidents) and assign responsibilities;
  • Obtain training for relevant staff on the access control system;
  • Develop policies for key/FOB management and implement new key system for exterior doors;
  • Develop policies for nursery/interior door access during preschool hours and develop policies for communication between nursery and sanctuary during services;
  • Perform tests and evaluations of policies and procedures through scenario walkthroughs and emergency drills; and
  • Identify safety measures and concerns requiring action.

We are looking for a small number of folks to participate, especially any members presently or formerly law enforcement or security personnel who can lend their expertise.
